We are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic, technology-driven company and looking to welcome a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineer into our team. Based in the scenic city of Cork, this role offers the chance to collaborate with various teams across our organization to design, build, and maintain our robust and scalable technology platform. As a Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering the platform that powers our leading-edge products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and operational management of our technology platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers and DevOps teams to align the platform with the company's evolving needs and industry best practices.
  • Improve system observability by implementing advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
  • Design and implement continuous delivery pipelines, contributing to the automation of platform deployment and configuration.
  • Assist in triaging and resolving technical issues that may impact the platform's performance or functionality.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and cultivate best practices within the team and across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree or relevant industry certifications (such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Platform Engineer, SRE, or similar role in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Proven experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with a talent for conveying technical concepts to a diverse audience in a clear and concise manner.
